About Mark
Mark Barrett grew up north of San Francisco and was fascinated by life’s psychological, emotional, and behavioral mysteries. Why do people behave in certain ways? Why do people sometimes remain stuck in unhealthy patterns? How does one break free from a life of quiet desperation? Mark developed an intense love of words at a young age and wrote and illustrated stories to his parents to express his love.
He earned his graduate degree in English Language & Literature from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He started writing fiction when he moved back to Northern California and revisited the places and people who inspired many of his early stories.
Mark lives close to San Francisco with his incredible wife and two children. He enjoys spending time with his family, hiking through the Marin Headlands, and connecting with extended family and friends on this beautiful and mysterious journey together.
